DPT Portfolios

The purpose of the portfolio for physical therapy students is to document evidence of learning related to overall curriculum themes not necessarily covered or taught in any one course. The portfolio is a record of learning and professional development.

There are three components of the portfolio:

  • Projects in five different areas: teaching, prevention and wellness, social responsibility, mentoring, and career development.
  • Clinical Fieldwork Documentation will contain evidence of working in different settings with patients/clients in different practice patterns and age groups. This will be completed during your clinical fieldwork with your coordinator of clinical education.
  • A Case Report will describe an aspect of physical therapy practice but does not involve research methodology.
