Carol CourtneyCarol A. Courtney, PT, PhD, ATC, FAAOMPT
Dr. Courtney is an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she teaches musculoskeletal physical therapy in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Her research investigates mechanisms of altered neuromuscular activation in individuals with osteoarthritic knee pain and in those with joint instability due to injury.

Dr. Courtney earned her BS in Physical Therapy from the Washington University in 1985 and worked for a number of years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Tulane University in New Orleans. In addition to earning her MHS from Louisiana State University, she attended the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy fellowship program at the University of South Australia in 1993 and received a Master of Applied Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy. In 2003, she earned her PhD from the University of Miami, and in 2005, was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT).

 

Alison DuncombeAlison Duncombe, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Alison is a graduate of The London Hospital School of Physiotherapy, London, England and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. In 2006, Alison successfully completed the UIC Fellowship in OMPT and was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

 

 

Darren EarnshawDarren Earnshaw, PT, BSc, MApplSc, FAAOMPT, CMDT
Darren is a graduate of Curtin University School of Physiotherapy in Perth, Western Australia. After working for a number of years in both the US and Australia, he returned to Curtin and received his Masters of Applied Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy under program coordinator, Bob Elvey. Darren is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and is certified in the McKenzie Method.

 

 

Benjamin GeletkaBenjamin Geletka, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT
Benjamin received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Ohio University in 2005 and has worked at the University of Illinois Medical Center since that time. In 2009, he successfully completed the UIC Fellowship in OMPT and was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. He is an adjunct instructor in the UIC DPT program, teaching in the Musculoskeletal Dysfunction courses, and is also a clinical instructor in the outpatient orthopedic clinic. Ben is a member of the APTA, the Orthopaedic Section of the APTA, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

 

 

Alicia Emerson KavchakAlicia Emerson Kavchak, PT, MS, OCS, FAAOMPT
Alicia received her degree from the Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis in December 2000. Alicia is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. In 2008, she successfully completed the UIC Fellowship in OMPT and was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Her research interests include pain science and neurophysiologic effect of manual therapy techniques. Alicia is a member of the APTA and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

 

 

Michael O’HearnMichael O’Hearn, PT, MHS, OCS, FAAOMPT
Michael is a graduate of the University of Sydney, School of Physiotherapy in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He received his Masters of Health Science from the University of Indianapolis, Krannert School of Physical Therapy in 1999. He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

 

 

Nancy TowNancy Tow, PT, MBA, FAAOMPT
Nancy graduated from the UIC Program in Physical Therapy in 1994 and received her Masters of Business Administration in 2005 from UIC. In 2008, she successfully completed the UIC Fellowship in OMPT and was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Since 1994 Nancy has worked at the University of Illinois Medical Center, most recently as the coordinator of physical therapy services. She is also an adjunct instructor at UIC, teaching in the Musculoskeletal Dysfunction courses of the DPT program. Her research interests include exploring the use of sonography as tool for measurement in musculoskeletal dysfunction. Nancy is a member of the APTA and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
