Physical therapists are experts in how the body moves. They assess and alleviate ambulatory and postural dysfunction to help people stay healthy and fit and to prevent the onset or progression of impairments brought on by injury, disease, disorders, and disabilities.

UIC's Department of Physical Therapy is regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the top 20 graduate PT programs in the country. Students benefit from the department's affiliations with nearly 150 clinical facilities in urban, suburban and rural locales throughout the country. Our internationally respected faculty specialize in diverse areas, including pediatrics, geriatrics, biomechanics, neurological therapy and orthopedics.
