About Us
The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago admitted its first class in 1971. U.S. News & World Report ranks the department among the top 20 graduate physical therapy programs in the country. Internationally respected faculty specialize in diverse areas, including pediatrics, geriatrics, biomechanics, neurological therapy and orthopedics. We are also committed to providing service to our neighbors in the Chicago area. The department provides therapists to work with traditionally underserved populations in the urban community, including children with developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, and orthopedic conditions.
