Degree Requirements | Program Length | Advising Process

Applicants to the OTD program will be one of three types:

  • Occupational therapists with a bachelor’s or master’s degree who are already practicing and who want to obtain an advanced degrees
  • Students who are currently enrolled in the UIC MS/C program and who want to continue on for the OTD after completing the Master’s degrees
  • Students who want to simultaneously complete the MS/C and OTD so they can be enrolled in both programs starting from their first MS/C semester

Program Tracks
All OTD students will select a primary and secondary track for study. The three tracks being offered are

  • advanced therapeutic practice,
  • education, and
  • management/leadership

The tracks will be used to guide each student’s program of study. It should be noted that students who co-enroll in UIC’s Master of Science/Certification (MS/C) program will automatically have advanced therapeutic practice as their primary track.
