CONCENTRATIONS
- Applied Exercise Physiology
The MS concentration in applied exercise physiology involves the advanced study of biomechanics and physiology, preparing graduates for careers in personal and corporate fitness assessment, prescription and training, health and physical activity programs for special populations, and leadership positions in fitness and wellness centers.
- Exercise Biology
The Master of Science concentration in exercise biology involves investigation and application of biochemical and molecular alterations resulting from exercise in a laboratory setting. This program prepares students for doctoral study in exercise biology or other programs in the health sciences, including medicine and pharmacy.
- Motor Control and Learning
This program examines the regulation and acquisition of motor skills in both healthy and physically impaired individuals. The curriculum is directed toward individuals with prior training in movement sciences, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or dance. The terminal MS degree enhances evidence-based practice; graduates who choose to continue their education are also prepared for doctoral programs or medical school.
