MS Program
Applicants are considered on an individual basis. Admission to the MS in Disability and Human Development program is open to qualified persons who hold undergraduate or graduate degrees from accredited colleges and universities. Both full-time and part-time programs of study are available. Minority students and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply for this program.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for admission:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- GPA of at least 4.0 (A=5.0) for the final 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate study
- GRE general test score of 1,000 minimum combined for verbal and quantitative (The program may accept students scoring below this mark if the student has significant experience in disability and has demonstrated the ability to satisfactorily complete graduate-level course work)
- International students only: Minimum TOEFL score of 550 for the written portion of the test
PhD Program
Applicants will be considered on an individual basis by the Admissions, Curriculum, and Academic Progress (ACAP) Committee for the PhD in Disability Studies program. Individuals who require further background study may be admitted conditionally.

- Bachelor's or master's degree in an area relevant to the program
- Minimum GPA of 4.0 (A=5.0) for all work beyond the baccalaureate level and at least 4.0 for the final 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate study
- GRE general with a combined score of at least 1,000 for the verbal and quantitative sections
- International students only: TOEFL with a minimum score of 550
Assistive Technology Certificate Program
ATCP is designed to accept a maximum of eight students each year. Admittance into the program is based on academic background, work experience, and how the student will put the knowledge to practice.
