Online Certificates in Health Informatics

Certificate Requirements | Career Paths | How to Apply

IBHE POST-MASTER'S CERTIFICATE
UIC offers an online post-master's health informatics certificate program for self-motivated, experienced professionals in the health care and information technology fields. Students in the certificate program have already attained a master's-level degree and seek to further their educational backgrounds or careers with graduate-level coursework.

The IBHE Post-Master's Certificate in Health Informatics signifies that graduates are conversant in the creation, implementation, operation, and control of health information systems. Coursework emphasizes development of a state-of-the-art skill set and knowledge base grounded in health care information sciences.

Unlike many certificate programs offered by trade associations, for-profit companies or some university-based short certificate programs, the IBHE Post-Master's Certificate in Health Informatics - like full degree programs at UIC - is approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

POST-BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE
UIC also offers an online non-degree health informatics certificate program that addresses the needs of health care, IT, and health information management professionals with at least a baccalaureate degree. Graduates are conversant in some current aspects of the implementation, operation, and control of health information systems. Course work emphasizes development of a state-of-the-art skill set and knowledge base grounded in health care information sciences.

This program provides graduate-level credit for either continuing education credit or a credential indicative of advanced, current knowledge in the health informatics field. Please note: This certificate does not provide the courses necessary to take the RHIA exam.
