Biomedical visualization student Elina Mer awarded prestigious scholarship Elina Mer, a graduate student in biomedical visualization, received the 2005 Inez Demonet Scholarship, a $2,000 award administered by the Vesalius Trust for Visual Communication in the Health Sciences. "She applies current technologies with creative solutions and an artist's eye to the most complex biomedical research areas. She understands fully the science and art of biomedical visualization, with a passion to explore the uncharted possibilities of applying new ways to communicate and learn," said Scott Barrows, clinical assistant professor and director of the graduate biomedical visualization program. Mer is the second graduate student in UIC's biomedical visualization program to win the scholarship. ![]() ![]() |
