Glenn Hedman, MEng Clinical Associate Professor Coordinator, Assistive Technology Unit |  | | Phone | 312-413-1555 | | Fax | 312-413-3709 | | Email | ghedman@uic.edu | | Office | 412 DHSP | Bio Mr. Hedman has a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering from UIC and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (with Rehabilitation Engineering as area of concentration) from the University of Virginia. He has 17 years' experience in delivering Assistive Technology
services.
Mr. Hedman's design work includes the complete design and fabrication of a children's wheelchair (master's project) having adjustable seat height, shock-absorbing front casters, and modular seating systems components. In addition, he has been involved in the design, fabrication, and transfer to private sector mass production of four adaptive equipment designs: a modular mouthstick system, lateral trunk support system, adaptive shaver, and rotating shaver. Research Interests Mr. Hedman's research interests include new device design and fabrication, service delivery
model efficacy, and cost-benefit of Assistive Technology.
