Kathy Hooyenga, OT, M.A. RET, ATP Clinical Instructor Project Coordinator Phone 312-996-3196 Fax 312-413-3709 Email hooyenga@uic.edu Office 413 IIDD Bio Kathy has worked as an occupational therapist for the past 11 years. She has specialized in the field of assistive technology for the past 6 years. In addition to teaching in the Rehabilitation Technology specialization of the Master of Science in Disability and Human Development, she provides clinical services through the DHD Assistive Technology Unit in the areas of computer access, access to augmentative communication, and adaptive equipment design. Previously she worked as an occupational therapy clinical specialist in pediatric rehabilitation. Kathy has made presentations on her work at local and national conferences, and she has created several adaptive equipment designs that recently have been introduced to the marketplace.
