Emeritus professor inducted into Fitness Hall of Fame

Dr. Tom Sattler, associate professor emeritus in the Department of Movement Sciences, was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame March 18. He was a professor at AHS for more than 40 years and was instrumental in developing the graduate degree in exercise science at UIC. He also coordinated training programs for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs.

The induction took place at the Oak Meadows Golf Club in Addison, Ill.

Sattler was joined by eight additional individual inductees, including "The Hulk" Lou Ferrigno; Jacki Sorenson, inventor of aerobic dance; and Betty Weider, a contributing editor to Shape and Muscle & Fitness magazines.
