AHS presents the 2008 Frank Armitage Lecture Oct. 23-24 Join the faculty and graduate students in biomedical visualization at UIC on October 23 and 24 as we host the 2008 Frank Armitage Lecture with Dr. W. Paul Brown of Stanford University and president/founder of eHuman. Thursday, October 23, 2008 From the world-renowned Bassett Collection of dissections to the newest technologies created to view scanned anatomy in endless “inner views”, Paul Brown is a visionary worthy of the Armitage name. Dr. Brown is a clinical assistant professor at the University of the Pacific and UCSF Schools of Dentistry. He has been the principal investigator on 8 NIH grants involved with medical imaging, virtual reality and simulations. Brown was in the private practice of clinical endodontics in Palo Alto, California, for 27 years. Since 1982, he has been the endodontist for the San Francisco Zoo and Marine World/Africa USA where he has developed highly specialized endodontic instruments as well as performed endodontic and oral surgery procedures on exotic animals. He has given numerous presentations on endodontics and has participated in programs for National Geographic and The Learning Channel.
