Student council 5K makes for a good start

The AHS student council hosted what they plan to make an annual 5K run/walk/roll on Saturday, April 21.

With limited, grassroots promotion, the student council attracted nearly 30 race participants, garnered more than $1,500 worth of donated prizes, and solicited $800 worth of donated refreshments from seven area restaurants. Also, “a ton of volunteers” took part, according to Eileen Doran, assistant director for student services.

Congratulations to our student council officers: Katherine Stefani, president; Rob Malnik, vice president; Rob Paszkowski-Sikorski, treasurer; and David Odulate, secretary.
